'Home' again

Well, I have made it safely back to Mae Sot, arrived at 4am today, and am immediately immersed back into the full swing. I was hoping to take a couple of days to catch up on email, settle in, etc., but found out yesterday that the IRC Regional Deputy Director is coming to Mae Sot tomorrow, and I'm supposed to give a presentation. So, settling back in will have to wait. I'm back staying above the office for a couple more nights, because although I now have a house, I still don't have any furniture, and I'd anyway like to have a bed, before I move in. Today is a holiday, so as my tuk tuk brought me home from the bus station, we passed a long procession of monks passing through town, and people greeting them with offerenings, flowers, food, etc. Last night and tonight there have been fireworks all over the city. I hear this was nothing compared to the holiday coming in mid-November, truly eardrum shattering fireworks, I'm told.

Anyway, will begin regular posts again this weekend - and I have tons of photos from China and India to share!
