Winter!

I had fully been under the impression that Thailand's 'cool' season was only named that in comparison to its seasons of less pleasant temperatures. Lo and behold! It does actually get cold here! Although daytime highs are still near 85 some days, night temperatures plummet into the 50s, or as in the case of last Sunday night, the upper 40s. This is quite frigid in a house that isn't actually sealed from the outside, and that is built to keep heat out, rather than retain it. Combined with a decided lack of warm attire, the nights here are at times trying! I have bought 2 new blankets, socks, and a scarf, and have still woken up shivering. Jade went so far as to buy a full on winter coat, which while rare amongst the expats, is certainly not seen out of place around town. Perhaps we are more acclimated to Thai weather than previously perceived...
